the Alabama Center for the Book at Auburn University
The Alabama Center for the Book was established
in 2000 as the state affiliate of the Center for the
Book in the Library
of Congress. It has been housed in the Caroline
Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities
in the College of
Liberal Arts at Auburn
University.
While at Auburn, the Alabama Center for the Book has been a partnership of
individuals, agencies, and organizations that have supported and promoted reading, literacy, and other book-related activities in Alabama. The ACFTB has also highlighted the state's literary culture and heritage. Partners have included the Alabama Library Association, the Alabama
Public Library Service, the Alabama
Writers’ Forum, the Alabama
Reading Association, the Alabama Humanities Foundation, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts .
