About the Alabama Center for the Book at Auburn University

The Alabama Center for the Book was established in 2000 as the state affiliate of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. It has been housed in the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University.

While at Auburn, the Alabama Center for the Book has been a partnership of individuals, agencies, and organizations that have supported and promoted reading, literacy, and other book-related activities in Alabama. The ACFTB has also highlighted the state's literary culture and heritage. Partners have included the Alabama Library Association, the Alabama Public Library Service, the Alabama Writers’ Forum, the Alabama Reading Association, the Alabama Humanities Foundation, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts .
